Classic Shaving Tannenbaum Pine Soap
I have maligned this soap often, but I loaded 3-4 times longer than my other glycerin soaps today and got something more than passable. Enjoyed the pine scent for a DFS after 2 passes and some touching up. Little Florida Water to finish.
And that shave by lu20vt looks special!

The Emporer has new clothes!
My Japanese Western Style straights are all killer shavers, and the Manaslu was no exception. Unfortunately, after being packed away for fifty years or so, the original scales warped, and there was no saving them. They were nothing to write home about anyway, so this one went off to Max for new scales. Max, besides being a gentleman and true craftsman, has the soul of an artist, so my only request was to keep the scales classic and traditional in shape... The rest was in his very capable hands, and this is the result. The scales in red G-10, and a blue g-10 wedge, all taking artistic cues from the colored etching on the blade. In person, it is stunning, and my photographic skills do not do it justice.
So, now it is a killer in the looks department, besides being a killer shaver, and what better to set it all off than a classic Red Setter!
