Soft soaps?

I'm heartbroken. First, I became skin sensitive to Proraso. No biggie there -- my "go to" soap, Omega, was still there for me. I was a little worried, though, because I knew the formulations were similar. Then, yesterday, Omega turned her back on me like a shallow teen invited on the tour bus after party. Red, irritated face.

What compounds all this is that one of my favorite brushes -- BK8 in Super -- doesn't do well with hard soaps. The Omega and she were the perfect combination. I was just along for the ride. Now she's lonely, I'm lonely... you get the picture.

Any suggestions on a soap similar to Omega in consistency that we could hook up with?

Valobra makes a soft soap that is very good! They make 2 kinds of soft soaps, almond and menthol. I have the almond and it is a great soap!

Hope you can find something that works for you.

Cella is a great soft soap as is Monsavon

+1. Valobra IMO is similar in scent to Proraso too. A very clean scent smell. Another in a similar scent category which is a cream, however acts more like a soft soap is Santa Maria Novella Crema da Barba. :thumbup1:

Good luck

Cella is one the best soaps (hard or soft) that I have used. P160 is a decent soap, that performance wise, is on par with Proraso.

It seems like all the soaps mentioned are Italian. Is this a unique feature to Italian soaps? Anything from elsewhere?

Oh, and I forgot about these guys. I beleive prep, fitness, and figaro are all soft, but not entirely sure. I'm also not sure of how close they are in likeness to proraso, but there you go.

Fitness and Figaro are both soft soaps from Italy with an Almond scent like Valobra Almond. Have never tried Figaro. Fitness gives thicker, slicker lather than Valobra.

I had some irritation issues with Fitness and my tub has been sitting unused for months after just one try. I may have used a little too much when I lathered up but I'm not sure. I tried leaving the lid off to dissipate some of the fragrance but have been too scared to try it again. I should probably put in on the B/S/T forum.

While I agree that Cella is a great soap...performance wise, IMHO P160 is head and shoulders better than Proraso. Proraso is my least favorite soap/cream of the ones I've tried. I couldn't give it away fast enough!!

I recommend Cella or Prairie Creations. The PC is like a 'hard' soft soap, but it's not triple milled and performs similar to Cella. For me, at least.

I've been looking for a reason to order from Krissie at PC. Other comments made me think that she produced a softer "hard" soap. I'm a little concerned about trying another Italian -- not jingoistic, mind you, but Omega and Proraso are the only two Italians I've tried, and they didn't agree with me. Thanks. Order to Krissie on the way!

+1.
The P160 in Tipo Duro is also excellent but then is duro and not a soft soap

Two of my favorites -- third one is MWF, but I think I like the PC and Cella a tiny bit better.
