Soap Vs. Cream Usage - Soap WINS!

OldSaw

The wife's investment
I know we get a lot of soap versus cream questions/debates and frequently there are many that say it's about 50/50 or six of one and half dozen of the other. However, without taking any kind of poll, I see that the soap of the day thread is far out pacing the cream of the day thread started at about the same time. So I think this finally settles it, soap gets picked nearly 2.5 times more frequently than cream.

I like to super later half the time, the other half I use my cream. When I'm traveling I find that soap is the best option when dealing with airport security. You know because I may try to shave the pilots mid-flight if I get my gear onboard.

HAHA...Do you try for BBS? Or just try not to hack em' up!

Current BAU "shelf" in the den has:
Cella
MWF
Irisch Moos stick
Palmolive stick (euro)
Proraso Green soap

That's 5 from 5 for soaps with 4 of the 5 being tallow.

Soap wins for me ATM.

I've only tried one soap and found no advantage - other than the extra forearm workout to lather it. The classic difference is between slickness (soap) and cushion (cream) with cream being less drying to the skin.

Seeing as I lather in a scuttle (as opposed to face lathering) and have dry skin, cream is the easy winner for me. I suspect if I preferred my boar brush and face lathered I'd prefer soap.

I guess it's a split for me, I love some MWF, and yardley; but the TOBS, Proraso (&CO Big), are seeing the light too. I guess it depends on the day and amount of time I have.

I'm primarily a soaper, but I have one cream coming from WCS. I was going to order a puck of Harris, and then at the last minute I decided to try a tub of Jermyn Street cream.

Cream for now. I'm going to try some MWF soon and if that doesn't give me the same amount of comfort and moisturizing capability as the CF Lavender then I'll probably stick with the latter for a while.
