What's new

So I now know wet shaving with a DE saves you money

yes but are you calculating in all the girls that start hanging around because you are so "handsome" now?
They are every where.

Staying away from the internet is the key! :)

Seriously, it is funny to read about how much money we are going to save :) Even if you don't go overboard as most of us reading the forum will do I wonder how many people really use a new 5 blade cartridge (expensive) as often as the saving scenarios envision?

Many people have beards or mustaches and blades last much longer or use an electric and just finish with a blade or use the 2 blade cartridges which are much cheaper.

I used to use an electric and then finish up with a disposable razor and a bag of cheap disposable razors would last me a year. I think there are more legitimate reasons to switch to wet shaving than just the imagined savings.

You don't save money with wetshaving ... you stop wasting it.

Spend as much as you want on cans of foaming goo and Quattro carts, you will never have an heirloom to pass on to your son, or a collection of functional artwork that makes you a bit happier every morning when you pick it up.

For the ultimate in saving money go with a straight. No more blades to buy.

That's what I heard.

I've only been wets having for a bit over a week

I have my Ej89, tube or red proraso and a tub of razorock. Other than buying a pack of either Atras or Feathers once my 10 pack of each are out, I don't plan on buying anything til my shaving soap/cream is out. And by the looks of it, the proraso and razorock combine should last me over a year.

It is tempting though to get a few more soaps/creams that everybody is raving about on here, and also some that I have seen on some sites.

Really- there is plenty of free stuff out there
Seriously, it's everywhere. It's half the internet!

Not just handsome, but great-smelling. At my best friend's wedding, his fiancee' (at the time) was hanging on me because I was wearing Clubman's ASL. The three of us are best friends so my buddy wasn't mad or anything, but he was exasperated because she wasn't hanging on HIM (he was wearing Axe for some stupid reason). I finally gifted him a bottle of Clubman ASL the morning of the wedding to use, which he thanked me profusely for.

HA! Hang around here for another couple of weeks, and you'll start accumulating. We all said that once, didn't we gents?

there's no way around it, hobbies cost money. when shaving transitions from necessity to hobby ... $$$$$$!!

I would save money if I quit buying start-up kits for friends and bulk blades for blade samplers for said start-up kits.
Homebrewing, that saves you money too right?!

Haha that is what I am afraid of. I have been doing a great job at fighting the temptation so far. But it is getting harder and harder.
