Slim adjustment question

I have a slim that has a hard time adjusting from three pretty much all the way up. Any suggestions? Thanks!

It just may need a little TLC, try to put it in very hot water for few days. Then see if it works better. I have done this to many of my slims and Toggles and it worked. The insides may be a little gunked up.

BINGO! Game over, question answered, close the thread.

Seriously, Alex (who has gone through more adjustables than anyone whose last name isn't Gillette) nailed it. Hot (NOT BOILING!) water, maybe with a little Dawn dishwashing detergent, and change out the water when it cools. Rinse, work the knob, and repeat. Works every time.

John, very good point, the Dishwash liquid too.

I was always amazed how much gunk there was in the soapy water every time I changed it. Nasty but great to see it going away!

One more question, once at 9 it dials down easily. Could it possibly mechanical? Going to soak it anyway. Just double checking.

I fixed a dial 9 problem on a $600 dollar rhodium plated Toggle last month, all it took was very hot water every few hours for couple of days and dishwash liquid. Try it and keep us posted.

Your are opening the doors before adjusting up, right?
Nope, I've been doing it with the handle tightened.

I have been going at it pretty hard the last few hours and can already tell a huge difference. Thanks everyone for the advice!

On a side note, that was some pretty nasty stuff floating around in the water.

Open the doors before adjusting. With the doors closed and trying to adjust up puts a lot of pressure on the mechanism.

Always loosen the razor before adjusting, make sure it is slightly open and then adjust. This will prevent any future inside damage. Also, make sure you go through the settings every few hours as u change the cold water to hot. ( and add new dish wash liquid too)

Yes, please leave the doors loose before adjusting. It will only get worse with the doors closed and locked tight.
