I picked up this 1968 Slim adjustable last year. I I'm not sure about the quarter stamp. N1, or N4 ? Thanks.

I suspect it's a unusually shallowly stamped '4'
But I could be wrong. Its a very stylised '1' though

To me date code is not important, are you happy with how Razor works?
N 4 was the last quarter run ever of the last of the all-brass Gillette adjustables.
Date codes can have meaning for sentimental or historical reasons in small collections.

Bases on the pics of the confirmed 4 and the OP, it looks like a "1" with a small dent along side it.
You could always try rubbing it with an auto/china/glass crayon.
The vertical line is very pronounced (bordered the entire vertical line) and I can't see how the rest of the 4 would be misprinted.

Here is a photo of my G 1 195 just taken.
You can see the 1 is very clear, unambiguous. The same on a G 1 ball end Tech that I don't have to hand atm.
The OP's 1 looks way too stylised. The curve at the top of the 1 is highly exaggerated.
Still thinking its a very unusually shallowly stamped 4, or some freak scratch misleading the viewer as you suggest.
I don't believe the Gillette QC would have let such a poor stamp go by, but maybe it was an example from the dying days or hours on the N 4 run. Maybe the QC person let it slip through as a kind of visual memento to the end of an era.
My money is on a freak scratch now, though it darn well gives the suggestion of a 4.

I'd say it's a 1 with a scratch as well. If it were a partial 4 the scratch line should have met the vertical line precisely at the top which it is clearly not quite aiming for.
