Slant Acquisition Disorder

Since introduced to wet shaving my acquisition disorders have ranged from blades, to soaps, to aftershaves, etc... None of which have hit me as hard as my most recent (following my discovery of how incredible the shave is) Slant AD.

That being said, I have a very hard time finding unusual or different slants to add to my collection. To this point i have acquired a vintage Merkur, a travel Hoffritz, regular Hoffritz, and a vintage bakelite FASAN. No desire really to get a 37c or 39c, I dig the hard to find stuff... so, my question to all of you is...

What to get/look for next? Every now and then I see something different come up on the bay, but is there somewhere else to look? Everything that goes to auction ends up SKY HIGH in price. What are some that I should be on the look out for?

Just remember that today's "hard to find stuff" was cheap and easy to buy decades ago; the 39C that you buy today will be a collectors dream tomorrow.

I've been looking at slants, give us a run down on the performance? regular blades fit the Hoffritz?

The standard gillette blade was pretty dominant on the scene by the time slants came around. I'm not aware of any that don't take them, though they could exist.

edit: ok, I just remembered. Member Onotoman picked up a Servex. It's a slant of a different variety. The blade is not twisted or tilted at an angle, the safety bar is shaped in such a way as to make you hold it on your face at an angle. If I recall correctly it took proprietary blades and looked similar to this 'Ginge' razor, which takes standard blades.

I have a Ginge 'slant' who's head looks exactly like that.

Turn back now, OP. It only gets worse. Trust me. It gets more and more expensive, and consumes more and more of your time.

Right now, I have five new-to-me slants sitting on my desk waiting to be cleaned/photographed/put away until it's time to use them.

Also, I want all the slants. We can't both have them.

Which are your favorites so far?
