Thanks to the razor King Gillette smiling down, @DCRIII and I were both able to fair swap and get our birth year AND quarter Black Beauty S.A.s to their rightful dens, BEFORE birthday shaves in November 2017!

My birth year and month is H3, 1962. But I have to say that at this point all of my razors are 2 and 3 piece razors. No adjustables. And I really have no desire to try an adjustable. I really like the simplicity of the NEWs, Old Types, Techs and their modern equivalents like the EJ DE89 and Merkur 34C. So, I don't really feel any compelling motivation to go out and buy a birth year razor since the only ones I see available from back then are Slims. Now, if I could find a H3 Tech in good condition that wasn't overpriced, that I would probably pursue. I understand the draw of shaving with something from back when you were born but I have two Old Types and those are nearing 100 years old, far older than I am. So, the urge just doesn't seem to be there for me.

This post of mine a while back is proof that I can eat my own words. I have succumbed to the RAD and now have not just one but two birth year/quarter razors. And more importantly I really like how the slim adjustable shaves. So, yes, I’m a hypocrite. That’s ok. I’ve been called worse things. Here’s some pics.

Nice razor. If you ever decide to sell it I would like first crack at it. August '64 here also. I would even consider breaking my first try at the sabbatical for it!

This is why I've ever even considered it. I can't go a week without buying something let alone a whole year, heck, I would have broken it on January 1st.
