Hey everyone, I have a tube Proraso red that has about 55% remaining, and I'm wondering should I finish it, The reason I ask is because of its rarity, it's a great cream but I think my tube is getting kinda old and I don't want it to spoil and I end up with an unusable tube. I'm not sure of its age because I traded a Gillette Slim for it and the guy didn't say anything about the age. I am aware of TSD's wheat cream but I'm not sure of it's comparison to Pro red, please help.

I would use it. Unlike a vintage razor (and soap for that matter), the cream will turn and be unusable at some point, particularly since it is open already. You deserve to enjoy it.

Not really sure why you wouldn't use it. What purpose would that serve? I think your best course of action would be to order some of TSD's wheat cream and do a direct comparison. If it turns out to be the same that's great, if it turns out to be inferior oh well, if it turns out to be better then that's awesome. Bottom line is it's shaving cream, and unless you are going for the full, untrimmed bearded look you still have to shave

Use it; that's what it's there for. You still may come across a tube in some old store on a dusty shelf some day.

Reminds of that Seinfeld episode where George is facing a big dilema:

Exactly! I have a tube of Red that's about 95% remaining and I use it from time to time. I would be upset if it spoiled before I could use it all.

Use it as it was intended. Savour each & every use like it was your last shave with it.
It is truly a great cream and would be a shame to let it just waste away.
The thing I like about Proraso is the menthol in it. I find even the Red has a trace of it in it leaving more to be desired.
