should I contact paypal

Hi guys!

I need your advice. On the september the 16th, more than a month ago, Golden nib sent me 2 finest knots. I have the picture PO receipt that they have sent me. They have misspelled the town name in one letter, but since there is that "number" that identifies the city, I guess that shouldn't be a problem. They wrote "Zegreb" and it should be "Zagreb". Again, taking in account it is the main city of Croatia, I guess it shouldn't make any problems.
As you can conclude, nothing arrived. I can be optimistic and say- "arrived yet", but as the other items usually take 2 weeks, this is stretching it.
I was wondering, is there any chance of getting my 45$ (or some of it) back?
It was not insured, no tracking number... Of course, payed by paypal.

If it makes you feel any better, UPS lost my wife's $2300 laptop and when they found it, they delivered it to a business with a completely different address. On top of that, someone there actually signed for it. When I lost every nerve I had, they kindly brought it back and then had the audacity to ask me for ID. I asked him whether they asked for ID the first time they delivered it or not. And apparently not. Both him and I had a laugh, and ofcourse I did not have my ID, but he knew I was the right guy. It's tough to keep your cool when you get taken for a trip and you feel helpless. Hope you get your stuff soon.

Also, Paypal will not let me add my own bank account to my own Paypal. That's another mystery I will never solve because their every response is the same cookie cutter response. Good luck dealing with them if it comes down to it. They generally work harder to ignore your concerns if you are a nice guy.

Not to go totally OT, but you are, IMHO, better protected in the case of fraud by NOT linking paypal to a bank account and keeping either a balance there or linking to your credit card (not debit card) only.
 
Of course, contact them. I have had issues with paypal but never about refunding my money when I didn't receive an item, (twice in 8 years). Go to the security center or follow the link by the item and simple check "item not received" They'll either get the item for you or refund the money BUT in either case it makes the seller and you correspond. Its really no big deal.

I see offers from folks saying Paypal from Bank Account only accepted, and I immediately shop elsewhere. Paypal has had enough problems, I ain't linking them to my Bank Account. Ha! Imagine that.

To the OP, Shipment is bound to be delayed by the mistakes made, I'd give it a bit more time.
 
Even though it's a been little over a month, your package could still realistically passing through customs. It's not unheard of.

Well, golden nib told me they shipped it out, and indeed they have, they showed me the receipt.

This is the mail:

I have no way of tracking shipments to your country. I do not know how long it takes for 1st class mail to be delivered.

Here is my shipping receipt showing your package was sent on Sept 16th,



Tony"

What can they do. The shipment has no tracking number or anything else they can look into:frown:
Yesterday I got a shipment that was shipped on the 6th of this month, so there is little chance of delays for shipments from US. And I doubt the customs would keep the package since they only tax big packages.:redface:

I've had PP linked to my bank account for years and have never had a problem. I'd rather have them transfer $$$ from sales into my bank account for free than pay several bucks for a check.

Of course, I never actually PAY for a PP purchase directly from my bank--I use a credit card every time.

Croatia and the Czech republic do not operate an international signed for, (I know because I have sent packages there previously, absolute PIA).

There is no guarantee that is always the case though. If you ask anyone that has shipped or bought anything internationally extensively, they'll tell you it can take as little as a week or over a month to get a package. Size doesn't matter. What matters is whether or not customs decides to pass your package through along with whatever else it came in with quickly. Just hold in there. :001_smile

I don't know about shipping to Croatia, but I have family in Europe and in Canada, sometimes it takes a letter or package a week to get from A to B other times it takes a month or more. There seems to be no reason, I have had letters take more time than packages and vice versa.

So I say focus on "yet"

I have had similar experiences. I'm hoping for "yet."
