What's new

Shaving's never been better...

The wetshaves are getting better each time. Neck has been completely devoid of burn/bumps since I switched (thank you, Lord).

Tonight: ABSOLUTELY BBS! :thumbup1:
I did have some small weepers on each jawline/lower cheek and one on the chin - all of them closed right up with cold rinse. Face feels GOOD, no burning (Nivea ASB for post shave)

That leads me to this question:

Those of you that regularly go for a BBS, do you normally experience small weeps/spots during your shave?

Also, picked up some RSC cream today and used it tonight. So far, I LOVE this stuff. Copious lather, slick on the skin and has a very pleasant fragrance.

as time goes by, your face kind of toughens and your techniques gets even better. Been a long time since weepers for me... unless I get careless

No. I've never had issues with weepers. I shave daily and do a 3 (and sometimes 3.5) pass process. I consider my beard to be quite thick and my skin sensitive and prone to ingrown hairs. My current go-to set up is a Merkur HD with Iridium blades. My second favorite razor is the Merkur Progress. I use Tabac, though throw in AOS Sandalwood cream from time to time.

yeah the weepers go away after a while. you should have seen me the first time I shaved with a DE.. a carnage lol:lol:

Mallard --

You shouldn't 'go for a BBS' shave. That's the route to weepers and razor burn. A BBS shave is the natural outcome of good prep, a sharp blade, and excellent technique. Work on those and the byproduct will be a BBS shave.

+1 here.

Take the BBS if it comes, but go for the DFS. The only one who'll really know the difference will be you. I don't think its worth the possible irritation going for the BBS all the time.

Don't get me wrong, BBS is great, but the effort involved in getting it makes the DFS very very nice. There's many time a CCS,(close, comfortable, shave) more than does the job.
