Shaving Nirvana.... Again! Taylor's Avocado

I got a $10 tub of Taylor's Avocado in the mail yesterday (BST). I unscrewed the tube and sniffed...... OMG!!!

This morning I shaved with it.... OMG!!!

Yes, I have found Shaving Nirvana..... again. It is simply amazing how wonderful so many of the creams I have are; the smell, the feeling when they go on my face, watching in the mirror as my shiny 1963 Slim cuts through the cream and removes the whiskers on my face.

Then washing off my face, throwing on some witch hazel, and putting on some Skin Food, and feeling a softness that I never felt with a cartridge and goo.

To get a little zen on you (and especially for you curmudgeons).....

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's mind there are few. Shunkyu Suzuki

So far every cream I've bought has been a winner. Some are just "ok" masterpieces (Arlington), but some are sheer perfection. And I just got another work of sheer perfection with Taylor's Avocado.

Thanks Mr. Taylor.... you make good cream.

I love the Avocado! I always hesitated because I thought I was going be slapping on a guacamole lather:lol:

It is amazing stuff. I actually lathered with the dried stuff on the top of the lid and was overwhelmed with lather. Wow!

I know I still get excited by creams, but I've pretty new at this. Each new cream is a new adventure, a new smell, a new shave.

Avocado is a winner. :thumbup1:

I have always wondered about the scent, what's your description?

I think I am very close to going for it, hard to justify when I have a selection already:wink2:

I don't know that I could describe it. It's not "fruity," yet it's not real "cologney" (like DR Harris Arlington). I bet the reviews would describe the smell.

It just smells good and works good. You need it. You need it now. :tongue_sm

The scent does have an avocado tinge to it, but it definitely doesn't smell like guac. I'd be more tempted to say it's what a chock-full avocado tree smells like. I'll never forget that smell from the tree in my yard when I lived in Australia a few years ago.

You had an avocado tree? Oh man, I would get sick from eating so many of them on the spot!

I like some of the other TOBS scents better, but you can't beat the lather and the slick feel of it.

Oopsie. Trumper's, yes.

GFT Coconut is great stuff.

Today I had a great shave... one of the best. Avocado (about 1/2 an almond sized snurggle), a Gillette Slim at "5" and the 12th shave of my Personna 74. Wow!!! enough lather to shave 2 times at 3-4 passes.

This is definitely a keeper and up there with the best.

To me it has a "soapy cucumber" scent, if that makes any sense. Unique, fresh, and not overpowering. It's qualities as a performer are tops. After having tried many different creams and soaps, this one has made the final cut as I narrow my rotation down to my absolute favorites (if that's even possible).

Took a few shaves to grow on me, but I really like the scent now. At first it conjured up visions of a hair salon for some reason.

I agree with cucumber.
