schick quattro question

Hi everyone,

So i wanted to get a shaving gift for my dad. He is kinda of a gillette hater so he likes his schick quattro. Do you guys know of a cool custom schick quattro razor or a good schick shaving kit ?

He is a bit mad that back when Free trade started Gillette moved a few factorys from Canada to mexico if you need to know why is he mad at gillette hehe.

You could always pick up a vintage Schlick injector and some blades. That could be right up his alley.

Get him an Art of Shaving cream or soap.(Lemon or Sandalwood) He can enjoy some good lather with his Quattro.

There are no aftermarket handles for Quattros that I know of, unlike Mach 3s and Fusions.

Thanks for the info, i was just browsing that on the bay. thats is what ill probably get or some english whool soap.

I've had outstanding longevity from a Quattro cartridge, enough that the rubber on the handle degrades yet still on the same cartridge. The rubber basically decomposes. It does sit on the shower window shelf but I don't see how Dove soap would do that.

So I've been looking for an 'aftermarket' handle but can't find one. And that earlier comment seems to confirm why.


Going back to the longevity, the cart maintains its sharpness for about 4 weeks, daily shaving, then goes into very slight tug and pull (but more lather takes care of it) for several months.

If he's mad at Gillette, give him a Schick Krona double edge razor, and tell him how the Krona is a great razor AND because it uses the same DE blades as a Gillette, it was a razor that was taking market share away from Gillette in their razor sales.
