The knot on this one was in a very nice bakelite allbright restore...that fell off my shelf and hit the tile floor. 
The handle was trash and the knot had a substantial crack...I used a piece of oak from an old piano stool for a quick fix...
The knot may be a little small for the handle but at least it is still lathering like a champ...
