Regular cowboy boots or ropers?

In my previous thread I said I owned a pair of black ranch hand Lucchese Classics; however, now I'm selling them on eBay because I realized they just didn't fit as well as I had hoped (whereas I originally thought I simply hadn't broken them in sufficiently . . . now I think it's because the toes were too narrow -- should've gone with a medium-round toe). Now I intend to get another pair of black ranch hand Lucchese Classics, but I can't decide whether to get regular boots (with a medium-round toe) or ropers. I'm not even sure what I like; they both look awesome! I'd like to add that this would be my first "true" Lucchese Classics purchase (I had bought the previous boots off eBay, so to me they don't really count).

Anyway, I've noticed a lot of folks here sing the praises of Lucchese Classics -- both regular boots and ropers. What do y'all suggest? Thanks in advance.

Guess it depends on what style you are looking for. I wear my ropers with slacks, but my cowboy boots with jeans.

it also depends on your feet. I can't wear standard boots. I have a pair of Ariats that are rubber soled that don't hurt, otherwise, I can only wear Ropers. so, if you're any kind of flat footed, it could be an issue.

otherwise, it's a personal choice.

As I just mentioned in a similar thread that I had started, I decided to go with regular boots (Lucchese Classics, of course). But I decided not to get black ranch hand boots; I decided to splurge and went with black full-quill ostrich boots. Once upon a time I thought exotic skin boots of any kind would never appeal to me, but I really like these a lot!

For me it's regular medium toed boots in black during the work week and ropers on the weekend when I'm wearing jeans. Of course I tend to put a good shine on my work boots so that they look good in the business casual that I wear to work.

I don't have any Luccheses yet. They'll be my next footwear purchase...the classic roper in black cherry. I've got several pairs of Justins and a couple of other pairs. All ropers. Wear them with anything. IMHO ropers just look better. And those black cherry ropers...I just gotta get me some of those.
