recommended glue for a cracked yixing lid?

Need to repair a cracked (now two-piece) yixing lid.

Cheap pot -- not concerned about cosmetics.

Garden variety superglue?
Something else?

I used crazyglue on my dragon egg, and it seems to be holding up just fine.

Would duct tape work?

Anything rated for ceramics should do, but I might want to check to make sure its food-safe once cured.

The only thing I'd feel safe using to repair a crack is shellac cut with ethanol, and just coating the entire lid. The only problem is that shellac doesn't resist heat or water very well. Maybe you could drill out small holes in the lid and the broken piece, insert pins or screws, and see if that holds it together?

I think that any glue rated for pottery will do the trick and be safe enough for tea.

(Gorilla Glue if you brew monkey-picked)

+1 on the superglue/crazyglue. It sticks like crazy! It cant be that bad for you if surgens use a type of crayglue to close cuts up with. Sorry about your crackpot:001_rolle

You told us that you were holding services for the dragon egg. I want my flowers back!

Those flowers were for me? I thought someone was wooing the old lady again. Hope my neighbor heals quickly, and does anyone know how to get cement out of a swimming pool quietly?

I hear gold is the way to go:
