Razor storage / My collection

Good day gents! I've been wanting to better organize my collection, and find a way to safely store my uncased razors to avoid scratches and stuff. Well I recently found a solution to both. I bought some Plano organizers from Walmart for $4 ea in the hardware dept. Then I got some non skid shelf liner and cut them to size. Here is almost my entire collection of uncased razors (a couple oddities would not fit).

And here are the individual boxes up close. First is my early GEMs. 1900s, 1912s, 1914s, and 1924s. Brands include GEM, Ever-Ready, Treet, Star, and Radio.

Here are my later GEMs: micromatics, featherweights, and pushbuttons.

Here are my Schick, Evesharp, Pal, and Personna injectors.

This is my bin of miscellaneous razors including Merkur, Stahly, Barbasol, Star, Valet Autostrop, Schick Krona and a few other oddities.

Here are my birth year razors. Middle column is 1955 for my dad, and last column is 1976 for me. I have a 1927 tuck away for my grandfather's birth year, but it is cased.

And last but not least, my box of Gillettes.

One of these days I'll get all my cased razors laid out and get some pics of those, but they are currently packed away. Anybody else have a good way to store their razors?

Looks like you need some more of the later year Gems
I use cigar boxes for my straights

I have more, but they are cased. I have a few more micromatics, a couple Streamlines, a Gbar or two and a deluxe featherweight. I think the only thing I'm really missing are the contours.

Hotreds, pipe racks are great. I have a few. I use those to hold the razors that are currently in my rotation.

Very nice, KJ. I just showed this to my wife and told her you had many more razors that were cased. She just shook her head and said "Don't get any ideas. You have more razors (about 20) than you use now."

Very nice collection! I use a pipe holder for some, and the bulk of my collection is stored in a tall 7 drawer plastic bin. I laid down shelf liner a well, and its been a great way to store mine so far

One thing to note for the 1912 lovers, the two in the bottom right are the only duplicates. Every other one is unique in one way or another.

impressive collection and great idea. the problem i'm finding with all these idea here is it's hard to pick one i like best! and even harder to come up with something original.

Hi KJ: I like that razor storage. It is very classic. I keep my uncased razors in cigar boxes.

I keep my straights and shavettes in a small 5 drawer bin like that with the shelf paper, of course.

No need to be original, I got this idea from someone here a long time ago. Just finally got around to doing it.

I like it, but it seems a shame to have all those beauties hidden away when they clearly are in good enough shape to be on display. Of course I have no idea how many razors you already have laying around so maybe this storage is to avoid clutter.

Thanks for sharing, I will refer to this thread if my wife ever mentions my collection getting out of hand.

The real shame is not having my cases beauties out on display. No space for it right now. After I move that is something I want to fix. Some of these will be joining their cased brethren when I do.

Nice collection I have mine on display (9) and I use a 2 tier test tube rack. Someone on here gave me the idea.

Currently only have a couple of DE's so their stored in a hanging toothbrush holder.
