Razor Pics

Good evening!

Today, I went to town cleaning my new vintage razor collection. I decided to take pictures and edit them for you fine folks. Feedback is appreciated. In addition, I'll add in some pictures of my razor stand that I created from an old, beat down tobacco / pipe holder. And so it begins!

This is the first time I've ever cleaned anything before. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

Here is a pic of a concern I had for my first cleaning of vintage razors. Is this just brassing?

Yes thats all it appears to be...excellent pics of brassing Should shave fine tho....I like the Damaskeene best but YMMV ! The 51 SS should shave very nice as well. Well represented collection .

I never had problem with brassing, I might be one of the few of think it look nice ! It's look more vintage like that

i tested a flair tonight and my dome is bbs. my technique is improving for sure. tomorrow ill test out the 51.

i still need to give the gem another go. I've used it on my face but always nick myself with it and get mild razor burn. that's my only experience with an se. I shave my head daily and face every other.

Some scrubbing bubbles and toothbrush with hot water should clean them up nice.....love that holder, it looks like a wine holder for razors

I got particularly good results using silver polish wadding and some elbow grease on my slim....

the one on the right, the golden hue is from other items in the bathroom...

It would be nice to try out one of Gillette's Open Combs: Old Type, New Improved, or New.

I really like Gillette Techs as well, the fat handle tech being my favorite among them.
