Random Ink Sample from Goulet Pens

Never knew about this till I read their latest newsletter. Seems like a cool way to expand your collection or perhaps try a color you wouldn't ordinarily choose.

That's pretty neat. Kind of a " force you to try something" sample. I do this at restaurants sometimes, force myself to get something different, found some great new foods as a result.

Many years ago, some friends of mine liked eating at a place where those in the know would order a "whatever" ... which basically meant that the chef would make ... whatever he felt like feeding them. I only ate there once, and then the place shut down ... such a free spirit chef/owner decided to run off to Thailand or some such thing in the middle of the night (seriously.)

Higher end sushi places are good for the "whatever" order as well, especially if you get to know the person serving you. All kinds of doors can open, to new things, if you are willing to take the bad with the good.

Yep. I've had that at Sushi places. There's one in particular, where when she gets something new, she usually sends it to my table as a sample sized appetizer! Back on track... I'm definitely going to grab a few of these when I place my next order!
