Question Re: Muehle R89

Hi Guys,

I recently purchased a black Muehle R89, a great razor which has been providing exquisite shaves.

I was changing the blade this morning, and while tightening the head may have over done it. The satin finish on the handle seemed to break away, and now spins making it extremely difficult to loosen or tighten the head.

Besides being my own stupid fault, is this normal or a defect?

The basis for consumer protection laws in most countries will contain a "fit for purpose" clause. Tightening the handle onto the head of the razor is inherent requirement for it's use. Your's has broken whilst doing so.

Send it back with a polite explantion of how the failure occured.

Sorry to hear that. Can it still be returned? Sounds like a thread stripped.

If you can't return it, try dropping in a small stainless washer. You can get one for a few cents at a hardware store. That might allow you to tighten it up with the stripped thread.
