What's new

Pulled the trigger on some new stuff today.

Since I ventured into the world of wet shaving I have just used what I could find locally. Now that I'm completely addicted I decided to order some better products. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
My list of goodies:
1. Edwin Jagger De89lbl
2. Blades - Gillette 7 O'clock Super Platinum and some Feather's
3. Parker Badger Hair Brush
4. Brush stand
5. Alum Block
6. Mike's Lime Soap
7. Taylor of Old Bond Lemon Lime Cream
8. Art of Shaving Lemon Pre-Shave Oil
9. Shave Nation Geo Bowl

That's alot of lemon lime scent but I wanted it all to match and I like the citrus scents. Really looking forward to using some good products to see how much of a difference it makes.
Any advice for the rookie?

You have some nice supplies coming! I recommend you skip the bowl with the Mike's and take the brush straight to your face. His soaps are fantastic and face lathering with them is my method of choice.

Haha, a great list of items indeed! Did you buy it all from one store, or many online retailers? I am just wondering because shipping costs probably hurt you if you did it individually (i.e. Mike's tins are $11 and then another $6 for shipping alone). I don't think Mike sells on any retailing website other than his own...

I tried to do a bit of research and find out what to buy from the start instead of buying crap two or three times. I got everything on Amazon but the Mike's and the Geo Bowl. I'm a prime member on Amazon so I get the free two day shipping. That has paid for itself about ten times now. My girlfriend and I shop on there quite a bit.

I'm really looking forward to using the Mike's seems almost like a standard in the world of wet shaving.

I thought at first you had managed to acquire all those products locally and was about to ask where you lived as I would hope to move there in a heart beat. Congratulations on your new toys and hope they bring you many great and enjoyable shaves.

Sounds like a great haul! If you love citrus, you'll have to try Castle Forbes lime and TOBS Grapefruit someday.
Those 2 are high in my rotation! Good luck with your new goodies!

Just ordered Mike's Lime myself, and Castle Forbes lime is next on the list. Have the AoS Lemon shave cream: I, too, go for the citrus scent in the summer. A surprising find last year was Orvis 1856 cologne, strong and long lasting. (Yeah, that Orvis, the fishing/clothing people)

I can see now that I will have more than need when it comes to creams and soaps. Especially since my girl has started looking at them as well.
