I have been thinking about publishing this photo for some time now, but the embarrassment of the whole thing has kept me from doing so. This was my first shave with a traditional razor (before I found B&B). I did not realize that you had to use different technique when using a DE than you do when using a Trac II. So, I bought a Parker DE and a pack of Feather blades and proceded to go to town. I was always a stickler for close shaves so I dug the Feather into my face with incredible pressure and after several passes, this is what I looked like!
Thank goodness I found B&B! My technique has markedly improved since then. I have used straight razors exclusively for about a year and a half and now seldom see even a weeper. If you are just starting out, have hope. If I came from this mess to where I am now, you can too!
Don't look unless you really really want to.
Mind you, this was after I had rinsed my face and cleaned most of the blood and gore off! It is a wonder that I kept up with it at all!
Does anyone else have embarrassing photos of shaving related experiences that did not go as planned?
