Provence Santé- discontinued

I have received the following from Provence Santé:

Thank you for your message. In fact, yes, the shaving soap is discontinued, as well as much other Men's products. There are only the 3 you find on the website available (Facial scrub, Shaving cream, Eau de cologne). The reason is simple: As you have noted, this Men's line is based on formulas that are not completely natural because it is one of our eldest range. We will reformulate a complete new Men's line in the future. Until then, we work with the old one, but we don't produce them sold out products any longer. The new line is planned for End of 2010 or Beginning of 2011.

Roger & Gallet said the same and that has not reappeared.

Back to the store I go...just last Friday I was trying to put the finishing touches on a gift card. I saw the PS sitting there but I figured that I already have two pucks. Oh well.

To quote Bill the Cat "AACCKKKK!"

This soap has been in my rotation for some time and I will be sorry to see it go. I may begin hoarding Mitchell's Wool Fat.

I really wanted to try that one. I dont like to get attached to things that aren't readily available.

So, any idea what unnatural ingredient(s) it has? Some sort of witches brew? But I guess things like "eye of newt, and toe of frog, wool of bat, and tongue of dog" would be pretty "natural". Perhaps some paranormal ectoplasm? Something that "goes bump in the night?"

Don't forget bat's wing.

I'm glad I just received a puck of PS soap and I'm yet to use it...
This puck will last me a loooong time...

I might have to grab another puck of the green tea soap -- that stuff is nice! I need another bottle of the green tea aftershave too. Anyone know where I can snag some?

Well, isn't that a fine kettle of fish!

A local store just started carrying the shave soap. I thought "Great! If I like it, I can get it less than 15 minutes from my house."

Well, that's shot to crap. I hate finding something I like, only to have it shot out from under me. And I like this well enough that I have to decide if I want to hoard a few pucks, or just let it go.

Same exact situation here. I have an unopened puck in my shave den. Question is should I get one more while the getting is good?

It's a good soap, but imho not an amazing one. There are other French soaps out there that are just as good if not better. Cade comes immediately to mind, along w/eShave.

Meh. Pre de Provence is extremely similar. I have pucks of each and won't need to replace either for another 20 years at the rate they are disappearing. Man, those are hard pucks.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo....... Not a another product being discontinued and reformulated. These are great soaps.

I hope the new versions are of the same quality of the current products.

I've been LOVING the Green tea one, and was planning on buying the normal one in the future. Guess I'll have to speed up the order... :001_cool:

Edit: What is the best place to buy this soap, for European shavers? I bought my Green Tea puck at ShavingEssentials, but they seem to have closed down their store? West Coast Shaving has 7$ Shipping for just a single puck, 12$ if I want 2...

They are indeed hard pucks. Before I discovered B&B (and the world of other soaps and creams), I used Provence Sante exclusively. Shaving 5-6 days a week, a puck would last nearly 2 years.
