Practice or Antique?

I have been following the forum and have bought a new straight but have not tried it yet. However, I bought a straight razor at a garage sale 30 years ago and I was going to practice on it with the hone and strop. It occurs to me that it might be worth something as is in the origional box.
It is brass with a carbon steel permanent inset blade. The inscription on the blade is "Doubly carbonized IXL Razor" made by Geo. Wolstenholm & Son, registered 1850.
Should I practice with it or restore it?

Unless it is dinged pretty bad, that is not a practice razor! Pictures would be nice, but probably aren't necessary to say that much.

If you want a practice honing razor, PM me, and I'll send you one.

Save the Wosty's of the world!!
