Please help me fix a bent safety bar on a Gillette Slim

Hey guys,

I received a Gillette Slim I bought online as a backup not that long ago and to my biggest dismay, when I received it today I realized that the safety bar on one side is slanted downwards on one side of the razor.

This new slope on the safety bar is actually stopping both the adjustment mechanism and the TTO mechanism from functioning properly as there is a collision between the doors's hinges and the lowered safety bar. The bar is bent downwards equally through the whole bar and is the it is still straight, but at a lower level (steeper angle) than the other one. It might be the result of a fall.

Could anyone please point me in the right direction on how to go about fixing this?

Thank you a thousand times Brian!

I searched the B&B database and I never seen this one. All I seen are threads were people were given an advice and the person having the problem never coming back to document their findings.

I will ask any questions I have in that other thread, and keep you guys posted.

It works well, but be careful. I got a little over zealous in trying to get a FatBoy just right and in going back and forth a few times with too much pressure, I ended up bowing out the safety bar. Just go easy and make very, very small adjustments and you'll be fine.

I was over-zelous, in bending it upwards and now, can't lower it :/

Update: Fixed! And I will be test driving tonight.
