'Permanent' bump on neck (removal? other options?)

No----NOT removal of my neck!! The BUMP!! :S Long time no post, gentlemen. I seem to have developed a small hardish bump on my neck which kind of started out like an ingrown hair or something but just never went away. It doesn't seem infected or like a zit either----just a small, semi-hard mass which slows shaving progress. It's driving me nuts as it hampers a smooth pass on my neck----I go slow light and cautious around it.

My question is has anyone else had something similar? Did it go away or did you have a dermatologist remove it?

Call a dermatologist tomorrow. A friend of mine, a very smart man, skilled, worldly and sophisticated was killed by a 'pimple' on his cheek. What you have sounds like a small cyst but it might be something else. Years ago one of my shaving obstacles, always getting knicked, turned out to be cancer. Not a bad one, not a fast one, but one nonetheless. I still have the scar on my upper lip. Get a professional opinion. Soon. Good luck.

Hopefully it is just a kerotin filled cyst and not melanoma. Go get a doctors advice as soon as possible.
