Parker razors

hi,
i have not read alot about these razors i am interested in the 22r and the 99r but what little i have seen written about these is either good or bad.i have heard it said that they are good razors for the most part and not agressive which suits me fine.and also some concerns about quality? any thoughts, ideas, suggestions appreciated.thanks

My first razor was the Parker 22R. Namely because I wanted a long handle, and cheap razor. It is not too aggressive and will get the job done, I've been using it for 6 months but think I'm finally ready for an upgrade.

I didnt take quite good care of my razor, and it started tarnishing on the top, but nothing that will affect the performance. It's stayed in great shape traveling too, for the cost, I'd say its worth it as a starter.

I have the Parker 97r. The blade exposure is very uneven but I learned to deal with it. I have a Futur that I've been using for a few weeks. I'll have to go back to the Parker to see how I like it now.

My experience with Parker is with their 3-piece razors. I have the 94r and the 98r and I love them both (I do use the 98r more lately). My understanding from what I've read is the TTO's won't blow you away, but many people like the 3-piece models (good quality, good shaves). I can't speak to any quality control issues, mine are both great with no issues but I've only got the two razors, I haven't looked at a case of them to see if there are issues that creep up over and over. Mine are perfect and I use them every day. They have cured my search for the perfect razor, I have many, many to choose from and Parkers are the ones I choose most often.

I can't comment on either of the ones you mentioned but I did have the 82r and it seemed to be a well made razor. It was just too mild for me so I passed it off to my brother. He likes the way it performs.

thanks alot for the responses i got some updated information as a result,i might give the 22r a try! i have a Futur as one of my faves but it is a bit of a beast! but a very good razor!

I have a 96R. The quality is good on the one I have. It gets very little use since I picked up a Gillette Slim Adjustable.

i have the parker 97r resent purchase.its nice to use im still checking out which is the best blade for cut and comfort.:thumbup1:

The first razor I purchased was a Parker. I don't know the model. I didn't pay any attention, i was just blindly buying a razor. I love it and its my favorite razor. The head is a SS clone and it shaves very similar to a SS, but with a longer handle and more heft. No quality issues with mine.

My first razor was the Parker 60r, I still use it for my travel set. Its a good starter razor but I felt the blade exposure was uneven. And the handle gets a little loose while shaving, but still a quality TTO for the price. I can't speak for the 3 piece safety razors they make, but I've heard good things about their HD.

i bought the 91r heavyweight for my brother, i'm waiting to hear from him to see how it shaves. if it's good, i'm gonna get me one.

My 96r is super aggressive compared to my Merkur 34c I got for Christmas. I got the 96r to hold me over as I knew I was getting the 34c and I haven't used it since getting the Merkur. It's defintiely worth the couple extra dollhairs.

I have a Parker 22r and I think it's a great razor. It feels well made and has a good weight to it, I like the grip and it's pretty stylish imo. Seems to be a mild-ish shave although I can only compare it to my Gillette Tech, which is milder still. For the price I like the Parker, not as much as my tech but I still like it a lot.
