PalmolivE shave cream

Hello all!

The other day whilst shooping in my local supermarket i noticed some palmolive shave cream for £2 or so, i thiught to myself thats a pretty decent price and since its in y supermaket its muh easier to get hold of.

I was particuarly expecting much from it as my daily shave cream atm is tobs rose cream but i can honestly say after i used it last night i am majorly impressed, in fact the tobs has taken a back seat, i thought it could have been a good shave so i used it again today and got the same result. The cream seems to be a lot slicker than the tobs cream, ( burt since these are the only two creams i have used i fdont have a lot to compare it o.

Has anyone else used this cream? Can they shine anylight on the cream and how they think it stacks up to the likes of proraso( the next on my list to try)

Cheers!

This was my first cream and from what i can tell is pretty high regarded. It's a nice cream but i cant stand the scent personally so i will stick to my TOBS :p

I'll be back in Blighty in a couple of weeks.
I plan to be a few of these cheap wonder sticks. Maybe the cream too.
If I don't like 'em there are plenty on here who'd love a PIF......

The u.s. version had a washing powder smell or laundry powder smell that turned many away from it.I used it briefly but it always left my skin irritated and red so it has been relegated to the back of the shelf.Once in a while I pull it out for a shave.

It is fantastic cream. I prefer it to TOBS as for me it performs better and rinses cleaner out my brush. TOBS is quite a scummy cream with the hard water we have here.

It's also my "Go To" cream, the UK one smells nice (not as nice as Erasmic) and it whips up a nice thick lather in about 20-30 seconds.
I can use it on it's own (and did do for months) but I have started mixing my own lather with 5 squirts of Nuage Men Shaving Oil with Menthol, a blob of Palmolive for men Classic and a blob of The Real Shaving Co Shave Cream ² Moisturising.

the palmolive create a ton of lather, scent isn't my prefered but good.....however i don't like it because it dry up too my delicated skin.
For this price(i bought it at 1.25€) is a decent product.....but for the same price i have brought the "Denim shaving cream" that is 100time better

The old American stuff was great, today the Indian versions are very nice and the Italian tubes are superb performers, the menthol version is very potent and refreshing.

1.70€ in Finland.
This is my travel and backup cream if I ran out of everything else. I think this preforms great for what it costs.

driven by curiosity i reused the italian colgate today....it's give me a superb perfomers...yes it's true.....a ton of lather and a good resitance to dry in F.L. but it dry too my skin

kratos....your skin may be sensitive to menthol, which is a drying agent....perhaps some nice "balm" aftershave will neutralize the dryness??

€1.50 here in Ireland and a great performer.
Very under rated.

€1.60 in my local Dunnes :mad3:

The only thing I would say about it, and for that price this isn't much of a criticism, is the perfume has that liquid soap smell from public toilets, and to call it Palm extract is strongin it, the ingredients say it contains 0.1%

But it doesn't let you down shave wise, and will no doubt last for years as a back up/Travel companion.

It's 1 euro in Germany! I think for the price it's fantastic, I can understand why some people don't like the smell but I don't mind it. It gives a decent shave when it's up against Proraso it comes up short but for the price it's an excellent back up and it's readily available. Definitely worth a punt.
