Palmera or Henckels Friodur

Which one would you recommend?

I think they both look great! The Palmera is NOS and the Henckels is NOS blade but different scales.

So am I just stupid thinking there is some difference between them or?

Thanks for everything!
Erik

edit: the Palmera is round point, never tried those are they any harder to shave lets say the moustache area then with a square point is is all I've used beside a french point.

Henckels are great blades especially vintage ones which may be what you have but I would love to get my hands on a Juan Volmer Palmera.

If you can get a decent deal on the Palmera go for it.

Hmm, I think I have one of these Palmera's somewhere. I guess I should dig it out and see how it shaves.

Yes Bong.... LOL... Please DO "dig" it out of your surplus steel pile! You and I should start a "sharing program" between us... I send you 6 you send me six!

I agree with those posting above that there are many more Henckels around. So, all things being equal go with the Palmera.

As to your question about the razor's point- a round point is a tad different, as each razor is a bit different. But, if you can shave well with a straight, the point is just a matter of preference. I have no trouble in tight places with a round point. Just a little different tilt and stretch to get at where you want the blade to be. I find size of the blade more of a factor than point.

But, of course you could, in true B&B fashion, just buy both:thumbup:

Yay, thanks for all the tips. I went with the Palmera. It's a 7/8 round point.

I hope he sends it out soon so I will get it by the end of the week :)

Thanks again,
Erik
