Omega

Ok can pls someone explain to me why Omega is using as a brand name the last letter of the Greek alphabet?

Just curious....:001_rolle

I can't speak for the shaving cream brand, but I once heard that the Omega watch company chose their name because they wanted to be the "last word" or the end of one's search for the ideal watch.

Ok here is my theory on why Omega uses the last letter of the Greek Alphabet:

In the Greek Alphabet, Omega is the last letter. A lot of times Omega is used to represent the last in the line of something. i.e. the omega is supposed to be the last and the best.

I'm guessing that the Omega brand name is insinuating that its product is the last shave cream you will ever have to purchase because it is the best and the ultimate shaving cream.

That said, I picked up a tube of Omega for 6 U.S dollars. I've been using it now for approximately 3 weeks, intermittently with TOBS lemon-lime. The Omega cream is just as good as the TOBS. It lathers well and the smell is intriguing to me. Very nice product!

Why not? We just use a mixture of letters for names, why not one? Heck if my name was Alpha I'd just use the A as a name.

For the same reason as Nissan:

That's odd, in the UK, the Nissan logo is the circle with a horizontal bar with Nissan written on it! Not seen the Z logo.

In the states the badge is the same as it is here. They just use the Z for their range of "z" cars:

280Z
300Z
350Z
370Z

...you get the idea!
