What's new

Can someone identify this razor?

I was visiting a steel foundry for a some home appliances parts, and i saw the half of the foundry working on razor blade parts, there were many parts for different brands, I recognised some famous brands.

I asked for some samples, they gave me couple of DE and straight razors

I was intrigued by this razor i got that i could't identify:

The razor weights exactly 90g, cast chromed zinc alloy, no brand name, only two letters on the bottom of the top cap, the letters "S" and "X"
I shaved with it once, its on the medium side, got a smooth and BBS shave with a Sputnik (wide version) blade

Can anyone identify this razor? it could be a new razor, or maybe a prototype.

NB: The factory is just spare parts supplier for other factories, they don't do any assembly or packaging. they don't know what brand they are working on.

I don't know and don't have any kind of information about those parts or that type of razor, I can't help you.
Maybe someone more experienced will be able to answer you but it's equally possible that no one will.
A foundry for household appliance components that at the same time produces steel parts and parts for DE razors and blades, I find it nice. Did you ask for samples and were given free DE razors and straight razors? Suspected. But I don't think so.

its not a foundry for household appliances, its a huge foundry, one of the biggest in the province, they do all type of metal parts you want them do, from casting, to injection to CNC, you bring your prototype or schematics or mould or the part itself and they mass produced. there is no factory can do everything themselves, and the razor industry is no exception, they subcontract part of the process to other factories. (metal working to foundries, packaging to paper factories, catalogues to printing factories, plastic to plastic factories...etc)

And yes, you can get free samples everywhere if you know who you ask and how to ask, after all, those razors they gave me, no matter how much they cost its just a tiny compared the business i come to the factory for.

This explains everything.Do you reside permanently in China? If yes , I thought you resided in the U.S. and occasionally traveled to China for work. Perhaps if you live in China you will be able to get more information yourself than other members and , considering it seems to me that you visit these shaving brush and razor companies often, provide us with preview information directly from the manufacturers. Obviously if it is possible that these manufacturers or whoever is producing are inclined to make that information public.

I am not from the US, nor from china or reside in china permanently, i am not in the razor industry, i am in furniture, decorations, household appliances, lightings and office supply business. I am importer, wholesaler and retailer, I own multiple companies, showrooms and partner in other businesses, including several in the beauty industry (due to my visit to beauty trade shows around asia)
I don't have time to visit any razor or brush factory, or gather any info for you, it's just a passion for me to come to this forum and learn something. Whenever i see or experience something i will share it.

If I'm not mistaken, you had opened a thread where you wrote that you had been to a beauty expo in china, that you had been in the Yaqi booth, and you reported some information that got a lot of discussion. Now you write that you go into a foundry in China that makes products for home appliances but they partly work on razor blade parts and you met famous brands. I thought you were dealing with manufacturers in the shaving or wellness care industry by job and could provide information. I apologize if I was wrong or had thought incorrectly.

It's one of the Wolfman clones.

Like the stainless steel DS Cosmetics AX, maybe it's their budget version called SX?
I have been looking in Yaqi and Dscosmetics and even shield razors for a while and I can't find any classified info about them. Currently I believe that every model they have is a clone of another razor but I can't find any more info.

Since it seems that you know these clones well, I was wondering if you or anyone else can show me a source for these Chinese razors or share his personal thoughts and experience. Thanks 😊
