Oh Parker Shavette!

Ive just contacted the Whipped Dog for a real straight. The shavette is not destroying me but its simply too light and unstable in my hand. And the short blade length means too many approaches which increases the chances for error. Would rather begin cutting my teeth with a true straight instead of this demon.

Keep the Parker really almost flat against your face when shaving and it is smooth and easy.

Try for the oft mentioned, and totally wrong (for any straight) "30 degree" angle, and you will pay.

And, of course buy another razor! But don't give up on the Parker. they are excellent shavers

It is a bit like shaving with a laser beam, but once you dial it in its pretty nice.

Shame about the Parker; try both! Grab a true straight but learn both if you can! There may be times you simply don't have the time to hone and strop and the shavette will fit the bill!

You just have to give the Parker some time. I've been using mine, I've got 4 of them, for about 4 years now, and get great shaves from them. I find the really thin head is great for doing detail work and getting into tough spots,
