a perhaps valid negative about the 2006 B&B Limited Edition is its floppinesss... I have a finest and a finest in silver tip (OK, so I'm trying to be a B&B brush completist!) - both of which are a little too floppy for me.
I've read with great interest and curiosity the recent threads on O-ring brush mods... on the way home from work last night at stopped at the local True Value & picked up few rubber o-rings.
I worked a couple onto the finest silver tip '06 B&B - the modification gave me a brand new brush! The tips are still the softest and gentlest of any brush I have - but it now has some backbone! I used Colgate's Barber soap this morning, lathered in my big scuttle - great lather - and... the brush worked great!
Next, I'll stretch two onto a vintage Coate's restoration in which I set the loft too high (a beautiful butterscotch handle, TGN's best knot... too damn high. Shoot.) - we'll try that one tomorrow. And then... the other '06 LE... and then... my SMF III!
Before you dump that too-floppy brush - you might want to give the O-Ring Mod a try!
