What's new

NOS Toggle

I went into an antique shop today and went through the same routine. "Hello sir, can I help you find anything?" "Sure, I'm looking for any shaving stuff, straight razors more than anything." He took me around the shop and pointed out the booths that would most likely have 'shaving stuff', I said thanks, and started looking around. A few minutes later he yelled out from behind the desk, "I know you are looking for straights, but we just closed out an estate and the guy had a safety razor that looks like he got it as a gift and just threw it in a drawer. Are you interested in looking at that?," he asked. "Sure," said I.

He brought it over to me and I couldn't believe what I was looking at! This thing is like brand new! Sorry for the crappy pics, but I'm on the road and all I have is my iPhone. It's dated as an F4. I hope you like.

No question! I almost didn't stop, and I've got plenty of safety's (according to my wife, anyway), so I've been on this straight kick lately. When he asked if I wanted to see this safety razor, I almost said no. Go figure.

With the F4 date, this could be one of the last adjustable toggles made. This guy could have gotten it for Christmas and just put it away and never thought about it again.

Good golly!!! Man oh man, nice score! I think that'll be the prize of the week for sure!

More like prize of the year, or perhaps decade. Considering that Toggles were only made for one year, I would imagine there are only going to be a very small handful in minty condition like this. :001_tt1::001_tt1:
