Nice red/oxblood leather boot/shoe for bigfoot.

So, I've got a hankering for an oxblood leather boot or shoe. I would prefer a boot in the 6" range, but I am open to suggestions as I am having a hard time finding something. I normally require a 13 to 14 wide or extra wide in boots. I would just buy the obvious Docs in cherry red, but they have never fit properly for me (the 13 is too narrow, the 14 is too long). This would just be for casual wear, so not wanting to spend more than $150. I have been searching the typical places, and I have found plenty of boots in brown, black and tan, but nothing in red/oxblood/pseudo burgundy. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks for the help.

The for life dr martens are a lot wider.

I will have to see if I can find a pair to try on. I have been thinking about attempting a red/burgundy patina on a pair of lighter brown boots that I already own, but not sure if that would satisfy. I'll have to order the creams and polish necessary to find out I suppose.

The L.L. Bean Katahdin Iron Works Engineer plain toe boot may be what your looking for. They go up to up to a 13 Wide EE and are built on a Munson last ( I wish more boots were made with the Munson last).
I tried them on last week and they fit well (I'm a 13.5, and tried on the 13), and it's a beautiful, well-made boot with thick leather. Made in the USA too.

They make them in "cordovan." That leather is really nice, very similar, if not the same, as my 1000 Miles.

For around 150 less expensive, and still made in the US.

To the OP... I know you said sub 150, but I would urge you to consider spending 55 dollars more for the LL Beans. I see you are from the Midwest USA, and these are made in Wisconsin.

Here is the chippewa service boot in cordovan, but it is the SAME boot (as far as I can tell) that LL bean sells as the "Khatadin Iron Works Engineer" in cordovan, for 205.

However, these are also chips made in wisconsin, and they are closer to your price point. However, they aren't the cordovan color you want...
