Have at it, gents.

I found an old Matador piston-filler and I'm having fun researching the info. Likely pre-war, celluloid, it's got a cork piston and a gold plated steel nib.

I went to a local store today and unfortunately they were out of the color I was searching for but I did walk away with Organic Studios Walt Whitman and Conway Stewart (Diamine) Bodmin. They were even having a little pen show, although most things were more expensive than I was prepared for.

SO.... came here for the razors, stayed for the pens.... cant believe this place has both! Im new to the razor world and extra new to the fountain pen world. Im currently waiting on some Sheaffer cartridge pens of different colors. Nothing special but a good start for me. Im actually looking to use these on a daily basis. Im an ICU Nurse and we do a lot of writing, orders, notes, etc and thought a nice pen would help enjoy my job more. Here is a picture from the seller:

Once I get used to writing with them, I would like to get me a nice piston filler like the one above. Look forward to hanging out here.

That's a great start, welcome!

The postman came yesterday and brought my latest crop of eBay cheapies! Here's the four that I'm keeping (a Morrison arrived but has a broken nib...will probably be returning it to seller for a refund). All have been cleaned, re-saced if needed, polished, and are ready for inking.

- Top is a little no-name lever filler in black & pearl celluloid. It has a #4 Warranted nib, but I'm not convinced that it's gold.
- Next is a black & silver striped celluloid Majestic lever filler. Majestic was a third-tier manufacturer; this one is probably from the 1940s. Nib is a nice 14K gold and pen has a clean, clear ink window in the section.
- Third pen is a black and stainless steel Parker 21. Nothing fancy but a nice, reliable workhorse.
- Final pen is a green & black marbled celluloid Eberhard Faber. Nib is probably steel but looks to be in great shape.

I'll probably be testing these out later today and see if they write as good as they look!

I bought a Twsbi Vac700, looks like I have a review to do,... which I would have done tonight if my cell phone which double as my camera hadn't died in the middle of doing the photo thing

U bought a Twsbi ? I think I just heard the thump of brianw's body hitting the floor from fainting

I picked up a few pens last month, and they've arrived.

A couple of restored Striped Parker Senior Duofolds (green/gold/brown... photos don't at all do these justice. I'm only keeping one, though.)

Unrestored early model Parker Vac with two tone nib, double tassies, double striped jewels, and aluminum lockdown filler. It's in wonderful shape, but the blind cap is a bit stiff (probably slightly stripped threads)

Platinum 3776 Century with Soft Fine nib. This is an unbelievably good nib and converter in a decent pen body. This may be the best fountain pen going in the approximately $100 (ebay) price range.

I've had the Pelikan M215 for a couple years, but it has a new M400 OM nib now, which I really like so far.

I knew buying the pen put me at risk of being Fired as a NIB steward, but i really wanted a vac filling pen and the 700s are only 65 bucks now.

This may be the most anticipated reviews ever... I can tell you ill try to make it a bit more light hearted since its going to be derailed no matter what I do,... but ill be sure to get the facts in and give everyone a good sense of the true 700 experience for those actually curious

Andy I cant wait to hear about the 3776, there has been a few versions that have been heavily on my radar, I just dont like the roundedness of them,... but its time I add one to my collection i think

Ok...I guess I'll jump in the fire with u James....I've been looking at the vac700 as well because I want a vac pen. If your review is positive there is a good chance ill jump on one also if its at 65. Where did u end up getting it from?
