New Squeeze

Picked this up recently and thought I'd show it off. Nothing special, but I like it because - among other reasons - it was produced around the turn of the century just a few miles from where I live and I like the historical/local connection. What's really cool, though, is that I just got it back from Lynn and I now understand what smooth is supposed to feel like. No pull at all. Small Eureka moment:idea:; kind of an important tactile lesson at this stage of my str8 shaving career.

In any event, a 5/8 Torrey with MOP-covered tang, French point (?), and worked back.

I have that exact same razor, except the MOP on the back side was missing when I got it. Still playing around with replacements, but I agree, it's a great shaver.
I wanted to try a blade off a coticule, so I sent it to rayman. One of the smoothest razors I own! I just wish the tang covers were fully intact.

Nice score!

Nice razor, yes, it looks like a French point!

Thanks all. Like I said, I like the razor, and the local connection is cool, too.

And good to hear that someone else finds it to be a good shaver. I'm still on a 'fact-finding' mission with all this - learning what's dull, what's not; what works, what doesn't.

Congrats! I have a 7/8" Torrey and it is perhaps my favorite shaver. Incidentally, I grew up close to where it was made although I no longer live there. I liked it for the local connection as well.

So, what you're saying is that you're tired of plowing snow, huh? (me, too...) :sosp:
Actually, seems like I see plenty of smaller (up to 5/8) Torreys, but not many 7/8. Cool that you like the shave so much.

Yeah, not so big on snow anymore. Although I am relocating to South Carolina. I guess they actually got a little snow last year, but it's nothing like living in the Northeast!

I have gravitated to the larger blades. I find I get a better shave and I like the way they look.

Lynn's magic touch has been responsible for some of my smoothest shaves. That's an excellent looking razor you have there, congrats!
