New razor rack.

I know this topic comes up quite a bit, but I decided to post a picture of my new razor rack.

This design is pretty standard and has been seen in multiple sizes.

I decided to make this rack hold 44 razors in total. 4 Straights and 40 DE/SE.

I need to disassemble, sand, stain, sand, stain, sand, varnish. This picture had only been stained once. Unfortunately this is a tough time of year in New England for staining. I may let it weather for a few months and re stain in the Spring.

I may add a brush holder of some sort.

I added the handles so that this could be easily transported from linen closet to bathroom if necessary.

The four straight razors sit on four circular felt pads. I wanted something that would protect the scales during transport and would also keep them from sliding.

44 seemed like a lot when I was making it, not that it's done it just seems like a "short term goal"!

Thanks! This coat took 5 days to dry. I moved it around to try and help. Placed it near the heater, even tried a blow dryer for a bit. It just would not dry. I may wait for warmer weather when I can place it outside and really throw a few coats and a nice finish on it.

i like the handles. once its full and maybe even now it will have some weight to it. i sense a new rack in the future that holds 88 razors.
