Naniwa stickers

So, the Naniwa Super Stones have a sticker on them when they come fresh out of the box. The bottom portion of the sticker is written in English, but I still don't understand. Could some one help me out ...

SUPER STONE
[NEW CERAMICS]
Fine sharpening-taste
as natural stone gives

It refers to the feedback and feel of the stone. The more stones that you use, both synthetic and natural, the more you realize that different steels have different reactions on stones. I have some knives that feel great on Glass Stones but don't give me the same feed back on a king or translucent stones.

lick it, that´s a good one

But indeed the sticker is very annoying. It´s hard to get rid of the glue residues...

However the thing with the sharpening taste,
well like mentioned it´s supposed to mean that it has a soft and buttery feeling,
like the japanese prefere on there stones.
I myself had some Suitas and I loved the feeling I got
especially when slurried. After I got the SS 8k I fell in love with him eversince.
It really does give a very special feeling.
This counts for the 8k mostly.

I heard some days ago that Naniwa put something into the mixture that has no honing effect
but makes the stone feel softer than it is.
I don´t want to start rumors, I just picked that up somewhere

I figured it meant the stones feel (sharpening-taste) similar to a natural stone.

More than anything I got a kick out of it, but I thought I would check to ensure there wasn't some secret hone tasting club :tongue_sm

I guess I need to send my Nakayama back. It did not come with the nutritional information label on the back. It probably meets the RDA for minerals but is probably lacking in vitamins and fiber.

My friends parent's once bought a chainsaw that had the following warning in the instruction manual:

Do not stop blade with hand or genitals.

Good Warning!
sure would not want to try that with a chainsaw!

especially your own hand or genitals...

At 3:10 of the following documentary film, you can clearly see Bluto demonstrating the joys of hone tasting.

Without magnification I can't be sure, but I think there was some micro-chipping on on the blade.:lol::lol::lol:

Kudos to Bluto for using an x-stroke! Awesome, video! Thanks for posting.
