Looks good, please post your experience!

Go make something with onions, rub them all over your thumb, then rub it back and forth on the razor and let us know if it removes the smell. ;)

Thanks John and Luc.
I think i´m gonna use the GD for my first straight shave.
If it turns out well, the GD will have credit for it,not my skill.

Sliceoflife-is the onion the test for stainless steel?
Or for my greasy fingerprints,or is just your homemade afterbalm? =).

Cheers/Bernt

Yeah, Stainless removes onion smell from fingers.

My mystery arrived too. He gave me a free honing with a warning that the heel might need a little touch up. I didn't bother checking it on arrival (wish I had), but I did 30 passes on my coti with water and stropped and it passed the HHT as well as any other razor I own. I have no complaints about the shave. It was a coticule shave. Razor felt dull but cut hair like it was sharp and didn't cause any irritation (same as I've experienced with my vintages using Coticule as a finisher).

Really, the grind looks like the cheap pakistan razors, but at cursory investigation the edge it takes is the same as my vintage razors. For $20 you can't beat the price with a stick. I may do an actual review after I get a bit more experience with it, but first impressions? Yes the scales look cheap, but they aren't flimsy (some high priced vintages I've owned had plastic scales so flimsy I wouldn't use them until I rescaled the things), the plastic is thick enough it's a good user/beater razor. It's not perfectly centered (just a hair away from clipping the scales on close), but I'll fix that with a couple hammer taps tomorrow. Thus far I'm pretty happy with the razor. If it actually is Stainless, I'll be quite pleased (since it'd be my only stainless). I'm going to see how it does with an Escher edge tomorrow (hopefully).
