Since Tuesday's my Birthday and since it is better to give than to receive, I'm PIF'ing my Muhle 2011 R41 (the untamed one--in pristine, beautiful condition--just a little too aggressive for me) to someone who has been unemployed and unable to find work, and would like to have this beast. As far as I'm aware it stand for "contiguous United States" or sometimes "continental United States"
In this context it's probably more about postage cost than anything, and it's not uncommon to see this. Quite understandable too, I'm in the UK and it would cost rather more to send something over here than it would within your own country.
