What's new

My Liojuny custom is here.

My Liojuny custom Silvertip E-bay purchase arrived today (after this mornings shave). Here's a B4 & after shot of her. Specs are,

26/55
Alternative Ivory
Alaska
Silver tip extra dense.

On first clean it seems far more compact then anything else I owne including my SImpsons Duke Two. It has good back bone but I've only palm lathered so far. It feels heavier then my beloved Kent H8 and is slightly taller aswell. Tomorrow will tell ifthe £23 inc postage is worth it.

What do you guys think?

Well it's bloomed real nice, feels super soft on the skin. This morning I went with a Erasmic Black Bowl Soap and the LJ had no problems at all. It did a very good job of lather supply without hogging either saop of water. For me worth the dosh. And the communication of the vendor was very good. Dare I say a better brush than nmy Kent H8? well for the money yes but on preformce theyre about equal. All in all a great cheap brush.

I've had one for a couple of years. GREAT face lathering brush. Too much backbone to be a comfortable bowl brush (for me anyway)

I got the silvertip hair 24mm knot size one.

Speaking of which. I should break it out and take it back up to the shave den and start using it again.

Thanks for this post to kick me into action :001_smile

Hi, have you bought the LJ brush on Classicshop2012 eBay shop or another eBay vendor?
Tanks!

Sorry PM Sent.

AS for back bone I like it, it's very simalar to the Kent H8 but with softer tips. THe Badger funk is almost gone aswell. Several palm lathers with Tabac and SIM. This morning went with Erasmic cream. The LJ sure liked it. masses of lather. Cheap brush and cheap cream result DFS bordering on BBS.

Ares56,

I have a Frank Shaving and I love it, Would you say that the Loijuny is comparable in quality? Thanks

How far up from the handle is the glue bump detectible? This was my one and only complaint on my LJ finest brush, the glue bump at least 10mm which effects the way the brush feels on the face, almost a false backbone and I don't care for it. I have gotten rid of all my [badger] brushes with a glue bump extending past the handle for this very reason, including a few high-end brushes.

I read somewhere that glue bumps are done on purpose as this helps create a sturdier knot. It is also said to keep the water from getting into the knot itself.

So if your brush works fine, no need to worry about it.

This is the same brush I gave my son's father-in-law except with the faux horn handle. I have not seen it in bloom but have been told it was gorgeous. He treasures the brush. Thank you for posting the brush in bloom. That's almost enough to get me to order one of my own.

Beautiful brush at such a great price did you talk to the seller to request the extra dense Silvertip, I don't see any extra dense listed on their site?

I just asked about a 26mm silver tip in white. Didn't think about knot density.
