My First Weeper

The feather blade I was using had to be changed out (I was really impressed that it had lasted 6 shaves). The blade I had previously used was a Derby which gave me pretty good results with just two passes so in it went. Shower-Check; GFT Violet-Check; Weird looks from people while I lather-check. Ok, let's get to business. I did my WTG and XTG passes and looked at the results. Hmmmmm....no good. I felt around and decided to do an ATG pass. I hadn't done one for awhile since my skin is pretty sensitive and doesn't react well to it but my face looked sloppy. No-go:thumbdown. I relathered, really enjoying that silky feel (I may not like the scent of GFT wiolet but damn if it isn't smooth), and start my ATG Pass. The cheeks go by smoothly enough and I have no trouble with above the lip. There's about a 1 inch section of my chin the requires a blow torch and a sand blaster to smoothen out. I rinse off and take a look. Chin still looks pretty terrible. What the crap!? :cursing: So I take some of the excess lather off to do a touch up. After what seemed like 5minutes working on this spot i grudgingly accept the results, rinse with luke warm (can't get cold water out of the faucets here), apply an alum, accpeting the ATG sting I receive, and start to put everything back in my dopp bag. I pull out my Jermyn St., but before I can spray it on I see some red on my chin. Hmmmm, alum didn't seal that huh? ok. So I grabbed a paper towel and put some pressure on it. Still weeping? Fine then, hard ball it is. I grabbed my Proraso nick sealant and closed that bad boy up.
I was disappointed with the blade's performace this morning but damnned if I on't feel a little bit of mixed pride for dealing with my first weeper. All I can say is that the blade better perform better tomorrow.
