This weekend I finally had my first successful hone. I picked up a straight that was in really good shape on a recent business trip just so I could practice (ok, it was really cheap $12.00). I wasn't expecting to have much success and I figured if I mess it up I'm not out much. Well, after reading everything I could on lapping film, I gave it a shot. I needed to spend more time on the 12u than I thought I would but it worked. The shave was really good. Now the question is, can I get a second one up and running, or was this beginners luck?
