Musgo Real?

Can anyone describe this scent to me? Never had the splash, oddly enough. I've had the cream - love the smell - and tried the soap - was just ok, I thought - so what's the A-S splash (classic scent) smell like? And is it like the balm at all? Are either strong?

Hmmm. Vetiver and patchouli are the notes listed on the bottle.

It smells NICE. Masculine, warm, inviting.

It does stick with you longer than many aftershaves. I think this is a good thing.

I ordered a bottle after reading all of the great reviews. When I put a dab on my skin and took a whiff, it instantly transported me back to my childhood in the 70's. Someone in my life used to sport this scent, perhaps an older uncle. Personally, I could not get past the scent memory to find any vetiver or patchouli. To me it has a masculine, older man, and (unfortunately for me) very dated scent. Maybe herbal/smoky/spicy. The scent is quite tenacious as well. One of these days I'll get around to posting this full bottle on b/s/t.

Hmmm... There seems to be sort of a Tabac-like response to this scent - either people love or they don't. I still remain firmly planted on the fence with this one.

It smells just like the balm, and both are pretty strongly scented, although I think the the nod for strength goes to the splash. The bath soap uses pretty much the same scent (assuming it's neither the lime "pre-shave" soap nor the medicinal soap bars), but it is slightly milder and, um, soapier smelling. Generally, I think you're right: it is a love it or not kind of thing. Keep in mind, though, that due to its potency, even if you love it, you may be showing up on the radar of a number of people who don't.

The scent is vetiver and patchouli as started below, but just saying the notes doesn't give it life. It's classic in a good way. Words I would use are old school, old world, manly, well dressed, and regal!

Overall, my top three aftershaves. A little goes a long way with scent and performance. The price is right on this one too! Get a bottle and you won't be disappointed. I wasnt.
