I purchased this Leaf razor for head shaves and have never used it on my face. Realizing that I'm running out of modern razors, in desperation, I reached for this one for a 2-pass (WTG/ATG) face shave.
Today's MM shave:
Leaf
Shark Saloon x3
MdC
Ever-Ready re-knot*
Skin Bracer
I am astounded at the amount of pressure required to get this razor to engage facial hair. I had to press hard enough to nearly bottom out the razor on its springs, which is very unnerving after 2 years of using DE razors.
The good news is that after I got over my trepidation in mashing the razor into my face, the shave was surprisingly close, with no irritation, though it was impossible to get the whiskers under my nose. I employed another razor to whisk those away (and some other minor touch up).
All in all, a very nice shave employing LOTS of bad (old) habits, but a good result and enjoyable shave.
*I'm told that this badger was harvested at the wheel of his Tesla while sipping a mocha latte...so, thoroughly modern.
