May 2024 Gentlemanly Restraint Until Month End (GRUME)

Hello friends

Clear late autumn day here. Perfect for the aromas of PdP 63 that combined very well with Pinaud Reserve Whiskey Woods. Greencult 2.0 II, Semogue SOC Mistura and Gillette Silver Blue (4) are the shaving items I've become addicted to.

With us, an incredible duo, José James and Jef Neve.

Rating: 9,5

Have a nice evening and great shaves!

Still in, no shave till tomorow morning after work.

On the plus side I taught a "young" co-worker to shave today. Or at least got him started using a brush and soap. He was already using a DE.
His razor seemed to be way to blade forward for the amount of facial hair he has. Gave him my RR Mamba to try out along with a synthetic brush and Stirling Glastonbury.

Day 29, 93.5% complete

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: Nivea Men Shaving Creme
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic cashmere
Razor: GC.84 SB, RR Superknurl Handle, Astra SP #8
Bowl: Turkish copper
Post-shave: Nivea Balm

I tried using the Superknurl handle. Like the Bulldog handle, it looks good, but weighs a lot. The blade should see the month out.

Took my time, and got a fine near-BBS.

Still In...

Morning shave - 5/30/24
Razor: RazoRock Quick-Change TTO
Blade: Ladas Stainless Steel (3/5) (3)
Soap: BSS #1
Brush: RazoRock Hive 24
Aftershave: Stetson Cooling Moisture
Rating: 9.5/10, DFS+
Trying to speed up my morning shaves so I only did a 2.5 pass shave. Still a very nice and close shave. It would be great to get down to a 2 pass for morning shaves. Totally presentable and no issues.

Good on ya!

My 19-year-old son seems to have lost the electric razor I gave him, and he's been home for summer break. He has asked for help with shaving and we've worked with a Slim and the R2 plate for my 6S, using a synthetic brush and MWF. He tends to go too long between shaves, so the SB razors struggle, but he seems happy with the results and is definitely getting better with techniques. I think I'm going to have him try the OC Old Type next time we give it a go.
