How many of you use a metal tube key for your shaving cream tubes? I got a Pre De Provence one last weekend and I love it! Old school technology, but really works great!

Is that the one that L'Occitane sells? I've had one of those for a few years and it really helps get the last out of a tube of cream.

Whenever I have a tube, I use these plastic ones that I have for toothpaste.
Yep I have several no-name metal keys. I use them on bigger tubes like Bigelow, Proraso, Omega, etc....
In addition to using it on shaving cream tubes, I also use my metal C&E key on toothpaste tubes. These keys work on just about any kind of squeeze tube and are handy to have around.
I use the C&E tube key, but i'm partial to tubs so it doesn't see a lot of action.
I use one occasionally on my tubes. However, I use one regularly to remove cream from tubs. The size of the tube keys is just about perfect for getting the right amout of cream from the tub.

I very recently began using a impulse-purchase C&E key on my tube of Bigelow. Glad I bought it; keeps things tidy-looking.
I have a couple from l'Occitane and a couple from C&E--they're great.
C&E shaving cream is hard to find. The store closest to me just started to get the Nomad s/c in the tube again. It comes with a key and they also sell one separate.
I dont think they're going to carry the other two Sandlewood and Sienna. Those are hard to find also.

I use the C&E key. Mostly, it stays wrapped around my Musgo Real cream, as that's the only cream I have in active rotation that comes in a metal sleeve.
I've found it best to squeeze out product by hand, then flatten it out as much as I can with my thumb pressing against a flat surface. Once the tube is flat, I roll it up on the key. Using the tube key to squeeze out product (except at the very end) often results in the tube bursting at the sides.
That idea of using it to scrape cream from a tub is intriguing. I usually just use my finger. I've been meaning to pick up some of those small spoons that you use to sample ice cream, but haven't gotten around to it.

A cheaper and tastier idea would be to use a lolly stick as a spatula - after the Magnum or whatever has been eaten of course
Dont waste money on the fancy one from C&E - you can get one just as applicable albeit slightly less pretty from Sally's Beauty Supply!
I love these keys. I had a tube of Lider cream that was a little split at the top corner of the tube. using the key I rolled it up and now the split is sealed and doesnt leak.
I just use a flat object to flatten the end of the tube periodically. I actually see myself moving away from tubes in the future, aside from Musgo...and WARS...and Barbon...and Pen's Castile--Sally's Beauty Supply, you say?
I have both C&E and Sally Beauty Supply tube keys. The slot on the C&E key is larger, and it will fit over the crimp on Proraso, C.O. Bigelow, and L'Occitane tubes. The Sally Beauty Supply key will not fit on C.O. Bigelow tubes.
