It happened to me, right out of the box I took it apart to oil the moving parts and put it back together the wrong way. It never gave me a satisfactory shave after than. Then I saw a thread explaining how to do it the right way and once I put it back together, it became a dream to shave with, save for the bulky head.
If you use a shaving oil, then the handle is very slick unless you thoroughly wash the oil off your hands. Overall, a great razor which will teach you the correct shaving angle to get the best shave. I also have it permanently set at 3 and use it that way.
Do you remember what thread it was? Was it on B&B?
It was a long time ago, but it might have been on B&B. Sorry I cannot remember.
Too big and bulky for me although the shave was OK at lower settings. Big gap!
I agree with Steve on the high settings some guys use -- could be a macho thing.
