Magical beard??

Ok, so... I don't know what kind of variables really come into play with this strange occurrence...

After I am done shaving, just when I splash my face with tepid water to wash the soap/cream off of my face, I still feel feel stubble (short stubble that is just shy of BBS).. but as soon as I apply cold water and follow up with an aftershave...this mostly occurs when I use spanish floid or pinaud clubman...my face feels BBS.

I never feel completely smooth RIGHT after a shave, however, after application of those 2 specific aftershaves I mentioned above gets me there. Can anyone explain why this is happening and what is causing it??

Nothing magical about that. The hair gets bigger / longer when hot and wet. The aftershave will most like have a tightening effect on the skin too which may pull the hair into it.

When you wet your beard in preparation for shaving, the whiskers expand slightly. After shaving, the whiskers dry out and shrink back, both in girth and in length. So the very, very slight presence of whiskers at the end of the shave seem to disappear as the whiskers dry out.

Given a good to great shave, this will leave you BBS for several hours.

Pretty neat, huh?

Yeah that happens to me too, and what crowort said pretty much makes sense if the whisker is to absorb water.

This is what I suspected, but I wanted to wait and see what everyone elses input on it was. Kind of like when you splash cold water and AS, the hair "retreats" (for lack of better word) back into the follicle.

Works for me
